As we enter the Fall season and temperatures across the country start to dip (except in Florida), we’re taking a look at some fantastic timepieces from a variety of brands with warm tones for cooler weather – all available at DavidSW. If you’re in the market for a fresh daily to match your Fall fits don’t leave these watches empty-handed.
Rolex in Everose
The leading luxury watch brand around the world offers a vast catalog of stunning timepieces each with their own merit, but I’d like to highlight a sports model from the brand that will warm you right up.
The Rolex GMT-Master II in Rolex’s proprietary Everose gold is something to behold as the color is as distinct and vibrant as the changing color of Autumn leaves. A smooth ceramic bezel completes the look pairing rich chocolate brown with a deep black preserving the day/night indication while keeping with the overall aesthetic of a GMT. A black dial adorned with rose-rimmed indices and hands provides the perfect contrast for high legibility. The benefit of this piece is that it works year-round, but it just feels as though it was built for this season.
Tudor’s Black (Bay) and Blue
Tudor has made some fantastic sport models in recent years that have incredible durability, a rugged aesthetic, and are fun to wear. Grand Seiko’s “Fall”
We couldn’t write about the Fall season without mentioning the Grand Seiko of the same name. In 2019 Grand Seiko unveiled its “Seasons” collection with four new models. Known for their precision, reliability, and dial options, Grand Seiko has something for any fan of beautiful precision instruments.
The dial on the “Fall” Heritage piece represents the night sky during the Autumn Equinox. A dark blue is brought to life with a gold-toned seconds hand and “GS” logo. At 40mm, this piece can work for anyone and just might be the perfect pick-me-up for the season.
Omega Bronze-Gold and Leather
As the jackets and boots make their annual appearance, a great watch on a leather band brings the look full circle. If you don’t already have one in your collection and are looking for something to go with the season, check out Omega’s Bronze-Gold Speedmaster Chronoscope on an ultra-comfortable brown calfskin band.
At 43mm, this watch is a little bigger on the wrist, but that’s okay. Tip: If you’re wearing a jacket, you can get away with a larger watch. The Chronoscope is based on Omega chronographs from the 40s, giving it an intrinsically classic look, which is accentuated by this version’s warm tones. A brown dial is encased by Bronze-Gold. Breitling’s Transocean Classic
It’s never a bad idea to go for a vintage inspired look this time of year. Fall feeds nostalgia and the Transocean from Breitling is a mid-century modern classic inspired by the increased popularity of transcontinental travel at the time.
Limited to only 100 pieces, this particular Transocean not only carries the gorgeous design of the collection, but also features the in-house Breitling 01 Automatic Movement. A rich brown dial featuring a chronograph and date function is placed on a brown crocodile leather strap with gorgeous results. Dress it up or dress it down, the piece is worldly enough to mingle in any environment.
Panerai’s Radiomir 1938
This Italian brand makes some pretty big watches that were popularized by some pretty big guys: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and more recently, The Rock, have all had their hand in Panerai. The brand has utilitarian roots as a tool for the Italian Navy and the Radiomir model design has largely stayed the same.
The Radiomir 1938 saw the return of the 47mm case which might not be for everyone, but if you can make it work, it’s a lovely piece of history that will spark a conversation at any get-together you may find yourself attending this time of year. The watch feels vintage in nature and the large numeral style indices are legible and inviting. Large in size, yet humble in nature, this watch is easy-going and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Patek Philippe for Fall
While there are any number of models from Patek that could work this time of year, the rose gold Calatrava Pilot carries with it a relaxed confidence that makes us want to take Friday off and hold all our calls until Monday. The brand is so good at making pieces that feel like we’ve known them for a long time, and this rose gold Calatrava Pilot that was first released in 2018 is a perfect example.
Everything from the rose gold case to the rich chocolate brown dial makes this piece a knockout. The brown calfskin leather band is comfortable and makes the watch highly wearable as we go through the abrupt temperature shifts of the season.
